At about 9 p.m. on February 14, a building on Battle Street in the historic downtown area of the City of Manassas had a substantial collapse, according to Patty Prince, public affairs specialist for the city government.

On February 9th at 11:33AM, officers responded to the Bank of America located at 8501 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. Employees of the bank reported to police that an unknown person, wearing a disguise, entered the bank and approached the counter.

During the Feb. 2 Manassas City Council meeting, Mayor Harry "Hal" J. Parrish II delivered the State of the City of Manassas address in a video message to city residents–welcoming new businesses, highlighting activities, noting volunteer efforts and the city's first resident survey and underscoring the hiring of a city economic development director.

Beginning 8 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 5, all Novant Health facilities including the hospital in Manassas will lift visitor restrictions that were put in place Jan. 2, according to a news release. During the height of this flu season, Novant asked the community to keep visitors younger than 18 years old out of its hospital facilities.

Scouts and their families will be participating in a circuit hike (about 4 miles) through the City of Manassas Feb. 7, weather permitting with stops at five churches. Participants will donate food and will pick up trash along the way. At each stop a church representative will conduct an interactive discussion with the youth about two of the Ten Commandments along with a brief introduction to their particular religious denomination.
