Conway Robinson State Forest on US 29 in Gainesville to close 45 days for tree harvesting

The Conway Robinson State Forest on US 29 southbound between Pageland Lane and Heritage Hunt in Gainesville will close for approximately 45 days so that a crew working for the Virginia Department of Forestry can perform three kinds of tree harvesting on a 32-acre tract within the state forest.

Gainesville supervisor’s office could move to Heritage Hunt

The office of Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland could be at a new location soon. According to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors' agenda for Feb. 7, a new site for the district office has been located and a lease has been negotiated, subject to board approval.

US 29 one lane each way in Gainesville this weekend

Local Gainesville area drivers may want to stay off US 29 and Linton Hall Road this weekend. The traffic pattern is being changed to allow for new construction.

From 7 a.m. Saturday until noon Sunday, US 29 will be one lane in each direction between I-66 and Virginia Oaks Drive. The Gainesville traffic pattern will be moved to allow for construction of road improvements. The project is to take 3+ years.
