Local man to explain firsthand experience with Alzheimer’s in talk at Gainesville

On February 26th at 7 pm, Gainesville Marque resident and author, Frank Fuerst, will be speaking about his 17-year journey as caregiver for his wife, June, an Alzheimer’s patient. As a result of that journey, Frank wrote the prize-winning Alzheimer’s Care With Dignity, a book he would have liked to have had during June’s illness.

Gainesville Library due to reopen Dec. 22

Gainesville Neighborhood Library, 4603 James Madison Highway, Haymarket, VA 20169 is now scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m., according to a news release.

Sept. 25 meeting on Prince William Schools western transpo center proposal

A September 25 community meeting at 7 p.m. at Bull Run Middle School is planned on the PWCS proposal to build a new transportation center near Catharpin Park (northwest of the Manassas Battlefield). The new facility will help ensure safe, reliable bus service to thousands of students in the growing western part of the county.

RTJ in Gainesville to host 2015 fundraising tournament for Tiger Woods Foundation

The Quicken Loans National golf tournament, which raises funds and awareness for the Tiger Woods Foundation and local charities, while paying tribute to our armed forces, will play its 2015 edition at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, according to a news release.
