Two back to back public hearings for proffer waivers and a special use permit for a large retail home improvement store at James Madison Marketplace in Gainesville District will be held March 7. The ±19.83-acre site is located on the north side of John Marshall Hwy (Route 55), approx.. 1,650 feet west of Route 15.

Kate Arnold, student representative to the PWCS School Board, has scheduled town hall meetings to solicit opinions on school matters from students. Students wishing to speak will be asked to sign in at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers will have three minutes to speak. The first town hall is Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at Battlefield High School.
