Shooting Investigation *ADDITIONAL CHARGES – A 17-year old Fairfax County youth is now wanted for involuntary manslaughter, following the Aug. 18 death of a 15-year-old victim who died as a result of injuries sustained after being shot at a Dumfries home on Aug.12, according to an Aug. 19 report issued by Prince William County Police.
Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department, said the juvenile victim is not being publicly identified, due to a change in Virginia law.
After consulting with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, police reported obtaining the additional charge of involuntary manslaughter for the juvenile suspect, identified as Ronnie Amarion MASSEY. Previously, PWPD charged Massey with Reckless Handling of a Firearm Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
According to the Aug. 19 police report, Prince William County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court issued an Aug. 19, 2021 order authorizing PWPD to publicly release information identifying the juvenile suspect.
Now police are asking for the public’s help in locating Ronnie Amarion MASSEY, 17, of the 12000 block of Golf Ridge Ct. in Fairfax, who is described as a black male, 5’5”, 140lbs., with black dread locks, brown eyes, and a tattoo on his forehead, wanted for Involuntary Manslaughter, MPO Carr said.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm Causing Serious Bodily Injury [Previously Released] – On August 12 at 1:56AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Banks Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that the accused was handling a firearm in the home when it discharged and struck the victim, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile, in the face. Police were immediately contacted, and officers arrived at the home where they rendered aid to the victim until rescue personnel arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital where the injury was determined to be life-threatening. The accused and the victim are known to one another. The accused was detained at the home without incident and the firearm was recovered. No other injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, was arrested.
