Woodbridge man shot during drug transaction on Powells Crossing Ct., police report

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding – On July 27 at 2:29AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 35-year-old man of Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to the police report.

The investigation revealed that the incident took place outside of a residence during a drug transaction. The victim was speaking to multiple occupants of a vehicle when he was shot by one of the individuals inside. The suspects immediately fled the scene. An uninvolved party heard the gunshot and contacted police. The victim is expected to survive. This incident was not random. The investigation continues, police said.

Residential Burglary – On July 26 at 6:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16400 block of Steerage Cir in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that the burglary occurred sometime between 1:44PM and 3:44PM. The suspect(s) appeared to have entered the home through a front window which was found damaged. A safe inside the residence was reported missing.
