Woodbridge man killed in Purcell Road crash Dec. 15, autopsy shows

Fatal Crash Investigation *DRIVER IDENTIFIED –
On Dec. 21, 2021 investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit were notified of the identity of the driver who died as a result of the single-vehicle crash that occurred in the 12500 block of Purcell Rd. in Manassas (20112) on December 15. Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer, said an autopsy conducted on December 20, confirmed the identity of the deceased driver as Brian PARKER, 37, of Woodbridge.
         
Fatal Crash Investigation [Previously Released] – On December 15 at 2:24AM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 12500 block of Purcell Rd. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a single-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2011 Honda Accord was traveling east on Purcell Rd. at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree and caught fire, becoming fully engulfed. Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the driver of the vehicle deceased at the scene. Due to the fire and condition of the driver, the remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm the identity. The deceased was the only occupant in the vehicle. The investigation continues.
