Woodbridge man dies from injuries in motorcycle accident on Mother’s Day

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality – On May 11th at 5:29PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 13900 block of Mathews Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 1999 Kawasaki ZX9R motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Mathews Dr at a reported high rate of speed. At one point, the operator lost control of the motorcycle, striking two unoccupied vehicles. The operator was transported to an area hospital where he died. No other injuries were reported. The operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drug use are not factors in this incident.
Identified:
The operator of the 1999 Kawasaki ZX9R motorcycle was identified as Miguel Fernando CAPELA, 49, of Woodbridge

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 11th at 3:02AM, officers responded to the area of Savannah Dr and Hersand Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that he was inside his home when he observed an unknown person standing in a field near to his residence. The caller further stated that the person, believed to be a man, was talking on the phone when he suddenly fired multiple rounds. No injuries or property damage were reported. No description of the shooter was provided to police.

Residential Burglary – On May 6th at 4:50PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14400 block of Watson Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between April 12th and April 19th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Jewelry, valued around $3,400, was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On May 10th at 1:46PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13900 block of Roanoke St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The homeowner reported to police that a vehicle pulled up and parked near their residence. Multiple occupants exited the vehicle and approached the residence. During the course of events, multiple rounds were fired at their home before the men got back into a vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were reported. Through the investigation, detectives were able to identify one of the parties involved as the accused. Detectives located and arrested the accused at his address on Knoll Dr without further incident. This incident was not random. The investigation continues.

Narcotics Investigation – On May 9th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were in the 2600 block of the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22192) when a drug transaction was observed in a parking lot between two vehicles. Detectives approached the vehicles and identified the parties involved. During the course of the investigation, 11lbs of marijuana, other suspected narcotics, evidence of narcotics distribution, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. A search warrant was also executed at a storage locker in Fairfax County during the investigation. The below arrests were made without incident.

Daniel Lee VILLAREAL, 30, of no fixed address
Charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and transporting over 5lbs of marijuana into the Commonwealth
Court date: July 18, 2014 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Peter Tuan HO, 27, of 3612Corrine Dr in Orlando, FL
Charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic
Court date: July 18, 2014 | Bond: $3,000 secured
