Woodbridge man charged with assault and battery on LEO and malicious wounding

Malicious Wounding | Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Friday, May 21 at 5:30PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 12800 block of Bison Ct. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, with visible injuries, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, who were outside of the home.

According to MPO Renee Carr. public information officer, the police officers observed the accused running around parked vehicles, not responding to officers, or following their commands. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted before being taken into custody without further incident.

During the altercation, the accused kicked an officer. The victim reported to police that she woke to the accused grabbing her arm and acting out of the ordinary. A verbal altercation ensued and, at one point, the accused repeatedly bit the victim. During the altercation, the victim was yelling loud enough for a neighbor to intervene, and eventually both parties exited the home prior to police arriving at the residence. The victim reported minor injuries.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Antijuaine Darrell SYRKES, was arrested.
