Woman, 26, dead; PWC Police investigating homicide in Gainesville
Homicide Investigation – On November 6 at 5:35PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a parking lot located in the 7300 block of Atlas Walk Way in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a shooting.
Once on scene, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim, identified as a 26-year-old female of Gainesville, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate this case. Currently, no arrests have been made. At this time, this shooting does not appear to be random. More information will be released as it becomes available.
This is Prince William County’s 20th homicide for 2016. *
