Witness’ use of “outside voice” may have have foiled an attempted robbery

**INCIDENTS**

Attempted Armed Robbery – On September 26th at 7:00PM, officers responded to the 10500 block of Hugh Mullen Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 71 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she encountered an unknown man. During the encounter, the man pulled out a handgun and pointed it towards the victim. A witness observed the incident and yelled towards the man who then fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 30 & 40 years of age, 6’2”, 190lbs with a thin build, dark complexion and unshaven face
Last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with burgundy trim and gray pants

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 28th at 6:16AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Cove Landing Dr in Woodridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 2:00AM and 5:50AM, entry was attempted into the apartment through an unsecured window. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On September 26th at 12:35PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1400 block of Ranger Lp in Woodridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 9:00PM on September 25th and 10:30AM on September 26th, entry was attempted into the apartment through a bedroom window after a screen was found to have been cut and removed. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.
