Wellington Road closed July 5-7
Drivers on Wellington Road, between VA 28 (Nokesville Road) and Dean Drive, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. will have to take a detour on July 5, 6 and 7.
The detour is part of the VA 28 overpass construction in this area. Message boards inform drivers of the area of the upcoming closure.
Detours will take drivers:
From VA 28 to Grant Street to Prince William Street to Wellington Road.
From Wellington Road west of VA 28 north to Grant Street to Prince William Street to Wellington Road.
From Wellington Road east of VA 28 to Prince William Street to Grant Street to VA 28 south to Wellington Road.
The new $44 million VA 28 overpass at Wellington Road and the Norfolk Southern Railroad in Manassas will eliminate the at-grade railroad crossing, improving safety for motorists and pedestrians and eliminating bottlenecks for train stoppages.
