Representatives from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) have informed the Fauquier County Department of Economic Development that the County will soon serve as a model for other Virginia communities that are bidding on blue chip prospects.
A formal proposal, submitted by Fauquier County in response to a query from a Fortune 500 firm, will be turned into a case study on how a community can best respond to an investment prospect. The proposal represented a joint effort by the Department of Economic Development, several other county departments, and the Vint Hill EDA.
VEDP will be using the Fauquier proposal as part of a package of instructional materials for Virginia communities.
Fauquier Economic Development Director Miles Friedman was quoted as saying, “We were told that our materials were well put together, coherent, complete and compelling. We are particularly proud to be so highly thought of in a state that has just been named, the #1 best state for business by Forbes.com.”
