Verbal altercation escalates to charges of strangulation | domestic assault & battery

**ARRESTS**

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On May 22nd at 11:16PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9400 block of Lafayette Ave in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic related assault. The victim, a 24 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, choked her. After the assault, the victim left the residence. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On May 22nd at 11:27PM, officers responded to the Applebee’s located at 3330 Pine Bluff Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 17 year old female juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking to her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by an unknown man. The man implied he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s property. The man took the victim’s purse before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported and no weapon was seen. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’8” with a medium build
Last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black jeans, and red shoes

Indecent Exposure – On May 22nd at 9:23AM, officers responded to the area of Springwoods Dr and Troika Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an indecent exposure. The victim, a 50 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was jogging along a trail in the above area when she encountered an unknown man. The man exposed himself to the victim as she passed him. No physical contact was made. The man fled the area following the encounter.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5’6”, 170lbs with a medium build and short black hair
Last seen wearing black glasses, navy blue shirt, green cargo style shorts and “Dockers” style shoes

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 22nd at 6:16PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4400 block of Hendricks Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that a banging noise was heard coming from another area of the home. The homeowner checked the residence and observed an unknown man attempting to enter the home through a bathroom window. The homeowner confronted the man who then fled on foot. The homeowner chased the man to the area of Hendricks Dr and Hoffman Dr where a physical altercation ensued. The suspect was eventually able to get away. No injuries were reported and no entry was made into the home.

Black male, between 18 & 20 years of age, 5’8”, 150lbs with a thin build, short black hair, and a dark complexion
Last seen wearing a black shirt and red shorts
