Utility work triggers precautionary evacuation at Battlefield High School in Haymarket

Students and staff have returned to Battlefield High School following a brief precautionary evacuation caused by a fire alarm that was triggered by utility work in the community.
Normal activities are resuming, according to Irene Cromer, Supervisor of Community Relations for Prince William County Public Schools, at 11:02 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Time to pay Prince William County property taxes; deadline is Dec. 5
Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes before the Dec. 5 due date. A late payment penalty of 10 percent will apply to any unpaid tax balance after the Dec. 5 deadline. Additionally, interest will accrue monthly on unpaid balances at a rate of 10 percent per annum until they are fully paid.
