US 15 closed today, April 7, for track work
State. Del. Tim Hugo, who represents part of the western Prince William County area, has notified Observer Newspapers of the pending closure of US 15, James Madison Highway, on Sunday, April 7.
According to the notice, US 15 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Market Ridge Boulevard and VA 55 in Haymarket while Norfolk Southern performs work at the railroad crossing.
The work is being done during daytime hours for the safety of the railroad workers.
Detours will be posted for motorists:
Motorists wanting to go north on US 15 will use US 29 North to I-66 West and exit back onto US 15.
Motorists heading south on US 15 will take VA 55 East to US 29.
Police will be on the scene for traffic control.
