The restriction on starting vehicles has been lifted in connection with the July 11 fuel spill at Braemar Village in Prince William County VA. according to a 4 a.m. news release from Off. Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.
Residents on Merrimont Trace Cir and Manor Hall Ct, directly across Sudley Manor Dr from the shopping center, will not be able to leave their homes by vehicle due to the location of the crash. Residents wanting to leave their home need to call PWPD communications center at 703-792-6500 to arrange a pickup to the temporary shelter located at Marsteller Middle School.
Once at the school, residents can stay at the location or arrange for another ride to pick them up. Any resident wishing to voluntarily evacuate, are feeling ill or unsafe is still permitted to use the temporary shelter if needed regardless of where they live.
At 4 a.m. fire crews were awaiting the arrival of a second fuel truck, which should be arriving soon, to remove the remaining fuel in the tank and a heavy duty tow truck. Once remaining fuel is removed, the truck will be up righted and towed from the scene.
The extensive clean-up will commence once the remaining fuel and truck are removed.
Sudley Manor Dr is still expected to remain closed between Linton Hall Rd and Dunbarton Dr into the morning rush hour, as well as, access to the Bramaer Village Shopping Plaza.
