Greetings, Prince William – Help kids have some Fall Fun!  Northern Virginia Family Services’ Healthy Families Annual Picnic is being held September 6, 4pm-7pm at Signal Hill Park, 9300 Signal View Drive, Manassas Park 20111.  Fun-loving volunteers age 13+ are needed to assist with set up/break down, engage kids and their guardians at fun activity stations such as Chalk Area, Obstacle Course, Infant Tummy Time Tent, etc.  Volunteers 16+ welcome, volunteers 13-15 must volunteer with a parent.  Please be prepared to work the full shift; volunteers should be vaccinated.  You’ll have loads of fun and bring tons of smiles to the faces of children and parents as they enjoy an afternoon of good food and fun activities!  Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn more.

·    They Served Us – Now You Can Help Them!  Volunteer Prince William’s VETS program needs Volunteer Drivers age 21+ to provide transportation for veterans and their spouse/widow to medical appointments, supermarkets, retail and houses of worship.  Schedules are flexible and most rides are done between 8:30am-3pm.  You’ll feel great as you provide transportation and friendship to veterans and spouses who otherwise struggle to have their daily and medical needs met!  Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn how you can get involved.  This opportunity is made possible by a grant from Potomac Health Foundation.
·    Are you a soccer fan?  TOPSoccer needs soccer-loving student volunteers to be TOPSoccer Buddies.  The fall season begins Saturday at 9:30am inside the Vint Hill Gym.  Interested volunteers may want to consider taking the free one-hour virtual TOPS Buddy/Volunteer training class held via Zoom on Saturday August 26 at 1pm, but it’s not required to volunteer. ·    Boxes of Basics is moving into a new, larger office space and they still need volunteers with muscles to help with setting up their new office, 9239 Mike Garcia Drive in Manassas through September 1.  Be aware that moving can be physically demanding. ·    Imagine being uprooted from your home country and landing in another country where you don’t speak the language or know the culture.  That’s what many recent immigrants who have arrived here are facing.  The hard-working staff at Catholic Charities have volunteer opportunities for Mentors for school-age children and Instructors to teach ESOL for the upcoming Winter session in Manassas on Tuesday evenings, 7:30pm-9:30pm.  You’ll feel great as you help immigrants get settled in the US and gain confidence in their new home!  Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to learn how you can help.
·    If you’re passionate about fighting hunger, you can help SNAP recipients gain access to healthy food! Historic Manassas, Inc. needs SNAP Volunteers age 18+ who can help with the SNAP program during the Thursday and Saturday morning Manassas Farmer’s Markets, 9am-1pm.  Duties include helping people sign in, handing out tokens to spend at the market, counting tokens and explaining how the tokens work to recipients.  Training is provided.  You’ll feel wonderful knowing you’re helping food insecure families be able to access healthy food!  Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for more information.
