Unclothed person charged with assaulting police department K-9
Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement (LE) K-9 – On March 15 at 10:11PM, officers, with the assistance of a police K-9, responded to the 8200 block of Vernon St in Manassas (20109) to investigate a naked man possibly vandalizing vehicles in the area.
When officers arrived, they made contact with the accused who was unclothed and exhibited signs of being under the influence of narcotics. When officers challenged the accused, he ignored their commands.
A police K-9 was deployed and assisted in apprehending the accused. During the apprehension, the accused struck the K-9 several times before being taken into custody by officers. The accused was eventually arrested without further incident and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No injuries were reported to the police K-9.

Lawrence Allen EWELL, 30, of 9815 Buckner Rd in Manassas
Charged with assault & battery on a LE K-9, indecent exposure, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication
Court Date: May 7, 2018 | Bond: Held on a $5,000 secured bond
