Two Prince William County Public Schools students have earned recognition as exceptional lacrosse players and scholars, having been named to the prestigious US Lacrosse Academic All-American lists.
They are recent graduates Jankarla Vargas from Forest Park High School and Ryan Klein from Stonewall Jackson High School.
The tough selection criteria require that recipients are juniors or seniors; be a varsity player; have been selected to at least first-team conference; and have a grade point average of at least a 3.6.
“These players have also left a mark beyond the lacrosse field and the classroom by making significant contributions of service to the school and/or community,” according to US Lacrosse.
In addition, Dan Puhlick, head coach of the Patriot High School boys’ lacrosse team, was recognized as Coach of the Year for Virginia – 6A North.
