Two arrested and one sought in connection with March 18 shooting death

**ARRESTS**

Murder Investigation – On March 19, detectives from the Homicide Unit made two arrests and identified a third suspect involved in the shooting death of an adult male which occurred in the 7900 block of Blue Gray Cir in Manassas on March 18.

The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Javiel Rosado SANTIAGO, made arrangements to meet in the above area to conduct a narcotics transaction.

Once in the area, the victim was approached by three suspects. During the encounter, one of the suspects, identified as a juvenile, attempted to rob the victim.

At that point, another suspect fired towards the victim, striking the juvenile suspect in the hand. When the victim attempted to flee on foot, he was shot.

Officers arrived in the area and located the juvenile suspect who was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
While checking the area, officers located the victim who was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

The juvenile was eventually charged and detectives were able to identify the other two suspects involved. One of those suspects, Carlos Fernando LAZO-RIVERA was located and arrested without further incident.

Detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of Alexander Esau FLORES-AGUILAR who is known to frequent the Manassas area and should be considered armed and dangerous. The investigation continues.

Alexander Esau FLORES-AGUILAR, approximately 21, of the 11200 block of Golden Leaf Cir in Manassas (aka Charlie FLORES, Carlos FLORES, and Miguel SANCHEZ)
Described as a Hispanic male, 6’0”, 150lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and attempted robbery

Charged with murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and attempted robbery

Identified:
The victim was identified as Javiel Rosado SANTIAGO, 21, of Manassas

Malicious Wounding | Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 20 at 3:38PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of East Lawn Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault.

The investigation revealed that two occupants of the home, identified as Daniel PIEKARSKI and Denis THOMAS, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated.

During the encounter, THOMAS stabbed PIEKARSKI in the upper body with a knife. The argument continued and at some point, THOMAS retrieved a shotgun and fired a round into the ceiling of the home.

PIEKARSKI was able to take the shotgun away from THOMAS then displayed a pocket knife and proceeded to cut THOMAS on the arm.

The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Both parties were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, warrants were obtained for the arrest of both parties. THOMAS was located and arrested without incident on March 21.

Attempts to located PIEKARSKI have been unsuccessful.

Daniel Foster PIEKARSKI, 36, of 4610 East Lawn Ave in Woodbridge
Described as a white male, 5’10”, 240lbs with a heavy build, bald and hazel eyes
Wanted for malicious wounding

Arrested on March 21:
Denis Nicole THOMAS, 34, of 4610 East Lawn Ave in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding and reckless handling of a firearm
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On March 17 at 8:09AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14100 block of Grayson Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 37 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and began to choke her. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. The accused fled the area before officers arrived at the residence. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused. The accused turned himself into police later that day without incident at the Gar-Field Station in Woodbridge.

Eduardo Hernandez CRUZ, 40, of the 14100 block of Grayson Rd in Woodbridge
Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Attempted Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 19 at 4:48PM, officers responded to the 18600 block of Amidon Ave in Triangle (22172) for a disorderly person. Officers arrived in the area and made contact with the accused. During the encounter, the accused attempted to punch the officer several times. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Kenneth Tyrone BROWN, 41, of 1634 Fort Fisher Ct in Dumfries
Charged with attempted assault & battery on a LEO and resisting arrest
Court date: May 10, 2016 | Bond: $3,500 Secured
