Brandishing of a Firearm – On Tuesday, July 13 at 10:45AM, officers responded to the Comfort Inn Suites located at 16931 Old Stage Rd. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a brandishing.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, reported to police that while driving westbound on Dumfries Rd., he slowed to allow a grey Hyundai Sonata to merge onto Dumfries Rd. from I-95. When the Hyundai did not merge immediately, the victim continued driving.
A short time later, both vehicles pulled into the parking lot of the business where a verbal confrontation ensued between the drivers. During the encounter, the driver of the grey Hyundai Sonata, brandished a firearm before driving out of the parking lot. At no time were shots fired or was there any physical contact between the victim and the suspect.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Tuesday, July 13 at 5:58PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Bowes Ln. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a possible shots fired call.
The investigation revealed that while walking in the above area, the victim, a 20-year-old man, received messages threatening a member of his family. The victim observed a black vehicle driving slowly in his direction and ran inside. As the victim entered the home, he heard what sounded like a gunshot. No shell casing was located. No injuries or property damage were located.
