Prince William County’s Department of Parks and Recreation is asking residents to take a one-question online survey by July 15 to assist in future planning of county parks and recreation services, according to Brent Heavner, director of communications for the department.
“We’re inviting responses to a one-question survey wherein we ask residents to rank-order different types of parks and recreation amenities in terms of importance to them. This is to provide our Parks Commission with citizen feedback so they can advise the Board of County Supervisors in matters of long-range planning and how any future parks-related capital projects might be prioritized,” Heavner said in an email.
“This is part of our process of planning for the future, as funding for additional projects of these types does not currently exist in the County Budget,: he added.
Amenities to be ranked include outdoor pools, indoor pools, fitness/recreation facilities, skate parks, trails, dog parks, playground equipment, pavilion and picnic areas, fishing / paddling access, sports fields, open play space.
There is also a comment box for residents to note amenities they would like that are not specified on the ranking list.
