Suspect in domestic case grabs for officer’s weapon

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding – On January 31st at 1:11AM, officers responded to the Babylon Café located at 4331 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Numerous calls were received regarding a large fight and shots being fired in the parking lot of the above location. Officers arrived in the area and located multiple casings in the parking lot and bullets which struck two neighboring businesses. The parties involved in the incident dispersed prior to officers arriving in the area. While investigating the incident, a victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, walked into an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower body. A short time later, a second victim, a 19 year old man of Alexandria, walked into the same hospital after sustaining a large cut to his shoulder. Both victims were reportedly at the Babylon Café and had sustained their injuries from the incident officers had originally responded to investigate. The investigation revealed that a large fight broke out inside the business. As a result, security removed several people from the business to the parking lot including both victims. Once in the parking lot, shots were fired by an unknown suspect resulting in one victim being struck. The other victim was allegedly struck with a glass bottle, also by an unknown suspect. All injuries sustained are non-life threatening. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery – On February 1st at 2:29PM, officers responded to the 8000 block of Community Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 13 year old male juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men. During the encounter, the men assaulted the victim and, at one point, knocked him to the ground. Once on the ground, the men continued to assault the victim before demanding his property. One of the men threatened the victim by implying he had a weapon. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone, ring and backpack before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

Black male, between 18 & 19 years of age, 6’0”, 170lbs with a thin build, dark complexion, goatee and short black hair
Last seen wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans and yellow & gray Nike Jordan’s

Hispanic male, between 17 & 18 years of age, 5’4”, 150lbs with a heavy build, medium complexion, unshaven face and short black hair
Last seen wearing a black New Balance hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and blue Nike’s

Attempted Armed Robbery – On January 30th at 12:30AM, officers responded to the 3900 block of Sunnybrook Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 38 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was delivery a pizza to a home in the above area. Once at the residence, he was confronted by an unknown man who demanded the pizza from the victim. When the victim refused without payment, the man lifted his shirt to display a handgun which was in his waistband. During the encounter, another resident of the home intervened and paid for the pizza. The parties separated and no injuries were reported. The victim reported the incident to his supervisor who then informed police. Officers responded to the delivery residence and were able to identify the suspect as the accused. The accused left the residence prior to police making contact at the home and warrants were subsequently obtained for his arrest.

Wanted for attempted robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Attempted Armed Robbery – On January 30th at 10:12PM, officers responded to the 1300 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 40 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached from behind by an unknown man who proceeded to push him to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspect threatened the victim by implying he had a weapon and demanded money. When the victim told the man he did not have any money, the suspect fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no property was taken.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 18 & 20 years of age, 5’0”, 150lbs with a thin build
Last seen wearing all dark clothing – no further description

Residential Burglary – On January 30th at 7:16PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Ponderosa Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner was unable to provide a timeframe for the burglary. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On January 30th at 6:54PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 2700 block of Dettingen Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:45AM and 6:30PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made into the home through an unsecured door. A TV and wallet were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 30h at 2:08PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8500 block of Coronation Ln in Bristow (20136) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner’s son reported to police that at around 11:55AM, two unknown suspects forced open the front door of the home. The homeowner’s son confronted the individuals who then immediately fled on foot. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. Both suspects were wearing masks and were believed to be younger aged males.

**ARRESTS**
Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Attempt to Disarm a LEO – On January 31st at 1:04AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7300 block of Rokeby Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim before taking her car keys and leaving the area in her vehicle. Minor injuries were reported. While officers were at the residence speaking to the victim, the accused returned home and became aggressive towards the police. When the officers attempted to arrest the accused, he wrapped his arms around one of them which led to a struggle. At one point during the confrontation, the accused grabbed hold of one of the officer’s holsters. The officer was able to prevent the accused from obtaining his weapon, and the accused was eventually detained. Once in custody, the accused kicked one of the officers in the leg. No injuries were reported by the officers. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on LEO, attempt to disarm a LEO, unauthorized use of vehicle, domestic assault & battery, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest
Court date: March 20, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 31st at 7:19PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Bay Vista Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 33 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, choked her. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery
