Suspect held without bond in Dumfries attempted murder case

Stabbing | Attempted Murder – On October 20 at 3:19PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Vineland Pl in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a stabbing.  The investigation revealed that the victim, a 49-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim in the upper body before fleeing the residence on foot.  Responding officers located the accused in the area of Naples Ln and Pine Bluff Dr a short time later and detained him without incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Charged with attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and burglary
