Suspect arrested in April 17 Manassas area robbery

**UPDATES**

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On July 11th, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave in Manassas on April 17th. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused who was located and arrested following a vehicle stop in Manassas on July 15th.
Arrested on July 15th:
Gary Michael JACKSON Jr., 19, of 9055 New Britain Cir in Manassas
Charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony
Court date: August 14, 2014 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 18th at 11:28AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave in Manassas (20109) on April 17th around 10:00PM. The victim, an 18 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he made arrangements to meet up with a known acquaintance in the area above to conduct a transaction. Once in the area, the victim got into the backseat of a vehicle occupied by the acquaintance and another unknown man. During the encounter, the acquaintance, seated in the front passenger seat, pulled out a handgun and robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before getting out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot. The other suspect, the driver, is not believed to have been involved in the incident. No injuries were reported. This incident is not random. The investigation continues.

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On July 15th at 9:45PM, officers responded to the 7-11 located at 5041 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the business and approached the counter. Once at the counter, the man implied he had a handgun and demanded money. The man fled with business with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5’6”, 150lbs with a thin build
Last seen wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, tan colored pants, and dark shoes

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On July 14th at 1:48AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15200 block of Flintlock Tr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a firearms violation. The resident of the apartment reported to police that they heard gunshots coming from outside and that a bullet had penetrated through a bedroom window. Witnesses reported that a vehicle entered the parking lot of the apartment complex at a high rate of speed. The driver suddenly stopped and opened fire on the apartment building. Following the shooting, the driver fled the area. No injuries were reported. The driver was only described as a black male. Damage from an apparent bullet was also discovered on an exterior wall of the apartment building.

**ARRESTS**

Narcotics Investigation – On July 15th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of prescription pain medications with the execution of a search warrant at the Neurological Center of Northern Virginia located at 2050 Old Bridge Rd, #200 in Woodbridge (22192).

During the investigation, detectives learned that the accused, a licensed physician, was writing prescriptions for pain medications without properly performing necessary medical exams. This investigation stemmed from the recent Dragon Slayer Operation which targeted distributers of prescription pain medications and heroin. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Samad ORAEE, 53, of 8305 Alvord Dr in McLean
Charged with 2 counts of prescription fraud
Court date: pending | Bond: $5,000 unsecured
