Suspect arrested in 2023 shootings

UPDATES
After 18 months, a suspect in the April 7, 2023 shootings into Residential Dwellings in Woodbridge was arrested after the suspect turned himself in “without incident,” according to an Oct. 9, 2024 police report.

*ARREST – While continuing the investigation into the residential shootings that were reported to have occurred on Kenmar Dr. and Lynhurst Dr. in Woodbridge on of April 7, 2023, detectives determined the shootings were connected.

During the investigation, detectives identified and obtained arrest warrants for a person involved in the incidents. The accused was determined to also be a member of the criminal street gang known as “the Crips.” and the police department report said the shooting was gang related.

On Oct. 8, 2024, the suspect, identified as Shaun Ross MINNIEFIELD, turned himself in to police without incident. The investigation continues as detectives attempt to identify other suspects involved in the incidents.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling [Previously Released] – On April 7, 2023 at 9:07PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13000 block of Kenmar Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a light-colored SUV was driving on Kenmar Dr. when it stopped near the residence. Two individuals then exited the vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking the residence before getting back into the vehicle and fleeing the area. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling [Previously Released] – On April 7, 2023 at 9:26PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13700 block of Lynhurst Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed multiple male suspects were walking in the above area when they stopped and fired several rounds towards the residence. The suspects then ran to a vehicle before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. While investigating the incident, officers located a residence and an unoccupied vehicle that were struck by gunfire. Shell casings were also located on the sidewalk.

INCIDENTS
• Indecent Exposure – On October 8, 2024 at 8:48PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate an indecent exposure that was reported to have occurred in the 18300 block of Quantico Gateway Dr. in Triangle (22172) around 6:15PM on Oct. 7. The investigation revealed the victims, a 23-year-old woman and 29-year-old woman, were in a parking lot when they observed a vehicle with the driver’s door opened. The driver seated inside the vehicle then exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures. The suspect left the area in a black Infinity. No other contact occurred between the victims and the suspect.

Residential Burglary – On October 8, 2024 at 5:41PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Pine Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between 5:10AM and 5:10PM, forced entry was made into an apartment through a window. A laptop computer and undisclosed amount of money were reported missing.

ARRESTS
• Strangulation – On October 8, 2024 detectives concluded an investigation into an assault that was reported to have occurred at the Days Inn located at 16925 Old Stage Rd. in Dumfries (22025) on September 30, 2024. The investigation revealed the victim, a 38-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.
During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times and grabbed her neck. A short time later, the accused took the victim’s phone and watch, preventing her from calling the police. The victim eventually left the room and was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital where police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Dalwin Duval JETT, was arrested.

•b> • (Domestic Related) – On October 8 at 4:43PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13200 block of Hillendale Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck multiple times and forcibly prevented her from leaving before she was thrown to the ground. The parties eventually separated, and the accused left the residence prior to police arriving on scene. While investigating the incident, officers located and detained the accused who was determined to be intoxicated. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Will Antonio GONZALEZ CASTRO, was arrested.
