Suspect arrested at Dumfries motel, charged with domestic assault and strangulation

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 11:24PM, Prince William County police officers responded to investigate a domestic assault that was reported to have occurred in a room at the Red Roof Inn located at 17113 Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22025) earlier that morning.

The victim, a 26-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim before grabbing her by the throat. The parties eventually separated, and the victim sought treatment at an area hospital where police were contacted. Officers also learned that the accused took money from the victim, said First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department representative.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Eric Antonio LUMPKIN. The accused was located at the Red Roof Inn where he was arrested without incident.
