In collaboration with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, Mountain View Elementary students will present inventions on Tuesday, March 15 in the school gym at 6:30 p.m.
Invention challenges suggested by mentors from the Patent Office include wearable functional clothing, snow removal, pet hygiene, and kids’ refrigerator.
Thirty-seven students will present their inventions in collaborative groups.
This challenge provides 4th and 5th grade students opportunities to solve a real-world problem that integrates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), the engineering design process, and patent and trademark research. Students have designed, researched, and built their inventions to solve a problem.
This event is open to the public.
