Strong arm robberies and assault cases keep police busy

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On June 19 at 11:55PM, officers responded to the 12500 block of Grand Targhee Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery which occurred earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 19-year-old woman of Woodbridge, was walking in the above area when she was approached by an unknown black male wearing a mask. During the encounter, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanding the victim’s property. The suspect walked the victim back to her vehicle which was parked nearby and rummaged through it and her purse. The suspect then fled the area on foot without taking anything. The victim responded back to her residence where she later contacted police. No injuries were reported. Officers checked the surrounding area for the suspect who was not located.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5’10” with a thin build
Last seen wearing all dark clothing and a black mask covering his face

Armed Robbery – On June 19 at 9:02AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which occurred earlier that morning in the area of Irongate Way and Ct 1 in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 23-year-old man of Manassas, was walking in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men wearing dark clothing and masks. During the encounter, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and demanding the victim’s property. When the victim refused, the suspect struck the victim on the head with the firearm then fled the area on foot. The victim later responded to a local hospital with minor and police were contacted. The victim was uncooperative with officers during the investigation. No additional suspect information is available at this time.

Residential Burglary - On June 19 at 5:20PM, officers responded to a residence in the 12200 block of Cinnamon St in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 6:30PM on June 15 and 4:30PM on June 19. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry.  A firearm and money were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 18 at 10:30PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 12900 block of Bayou Wood Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived, they discovered a screen had been removed from a rear window which was found open. No property was reported missing. Officers searched the surrounding area for any possible suspects who were not located.

**ARRESTS**

Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Abduction – On June 10 at 7:55PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4700 block of Grand Masters Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic assault.  When officers arrived, they were able to determine before the victim was transported to a local hospital that the accused, identified as Robert John CAMPBELL, had assaulted the victim, a 38-year-old woman of Woodbridge.

Following the initial investigation, officers arrested the accused for domestic assault & battery and transported him to the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center where he was subsequently released on June 14.

Upon further follow up with the victim, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau determined that the victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the assault. The investigation revealed that the accused had entered the victim’s residence uninvited through an unsecured door and approached the victim as she was standing outside the rear of her residence. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim and carried her back into the residence where he began to assault her. At some point, the accused strangled the victim causing her to lose consciousness. 

The victim was eventually able to text a friend who then contacted police. Detectives also learned that the accused had been sending threatening messages prior to the original incident and been following her throughout the day on June 10. Following the investigation, detectives obtained additional warrants for the arrest of the accused.

On June 18, CAMPBELL was located and arrested in Livingston County, New York without incident. CAMPBELL remains in custody in New York pending extradition back to Virginia.

Strong Armed Robbery – On June 19 at 6:39PM, officers responded to a hotel located in the 17100 block of Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 20-year-old woman of Kentucky, reported to police that four acquaintances came to her hotel room. During the encounter, the victim was assaulted and had money taken from her. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to officers arriving. A responding officer located the vehicle a short time later and all the suspects were detained. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, all four suspects were arrested.

James Ray BECK, 25, of 5004 East West Hwy in Riverdale, Maryland
Charged with robbery, abduction, give false identify to law enforcement officer, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement

Kyleen Heather DERRY, 23, of 2811 Ross Ave in Sparrow Point, Maryland
Charged with robbery, abduction , contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement

Trevor Alexander JONES, 29, of 1514 Chillum Rd Apt 202 in Hyattsville, Maryland
Charged with robbery, abduction , possession of a schedule I or II narcotic, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement

Sexual Assault Investigation – On June 19, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which occurred at a residence located in Manassas (20109). The investigation revealed that the victim, an 8-year-old boy, was sexually assaulted on more than one occasion by the accused, identified as a family member, since April. The incidents were recently disclosed to another family member who contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Luis ENRIQUEZ BARRANTES, 18, of Manassas
Charged with 4 counts of forcible sodomy
