The Neighborhood Services Division of Prince William County government’s Department of Public Works will once again help county residents, neighborhoods and community groups safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted items. The cleanup assistance begins this Saturday, April 6, in the Yorkshire community, and concludes Saturday, June 1 in the Dale City community.
Neighborhood Services will provide free dumpsters at various locations throughout the county. Residents are encouraged to work together to clean up common areas, organize litter pickups and clean up streams, lakes and waterways in their neighborhood. Dumpsters will be on site the Saturdays listed below from 8 a.m. to noon.
April 6: Emmanuel Baptist Church 8006 Centreville Road, Manassas
April 13: Town of Quantico
April 20 Rt. 1 Litter Pickup, Meet at the Woodbridge Kiss & Ride Lot
April 27: Guinn Memorial Park 3876 Graham Park Rd, Dumfries
May 4: Irongate, across from Court 4 near the pool off of Irongate Way
May 11: Sudley Elementary School parking lot 9744 Copeland Drive, Manassas
May 18: Fred Lynn Middle School parking lot 1650 Prince William Pkwy
June 1 Dale Boulevard, Gemini Way Commuter Lot
Items not accepted at the dumpsters include fuel tanks/drums, motor oil, household hazardous waste, antifreeze, paint thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals or commercial waste. These items can be disposed at the PWC Landfill. Please call 703-792-5750 for more information on proper disposal.
If disposing household appliances, ensure refrigerators are empty of their contents and wiped clean, remove glass trays from microwaves, and secure the doors with tape before dropping them off at the dumpster location.
