Special Victims Unit investigates alleged sexual assault by a family member in Gainesville

Aggravated Sexual Battery | Indecent Liberties by Custodian –
On August 7, detectives with the Special Victims Unit, in conjunction with Child Protective Services, concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a hotel in the Gainesville area (20155) of Prince William County between July 5 and 6.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 15-year-old female juvenile, was sexually assaulted on more than one occasion during the above timeframe by a family member, identified as the accused. The victim recently reported the incidents to police prompting the investigation.

On August 6, following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Richard Lee DAVIS. On August 7, members of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office located the accused and took him into custody.

Arrested on August 7:
Richard Lee DAVIS, 50, of 6745 Riley Rd. in Warrenton
Charged with 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery, 2 counts of indecent liberties by custodian and 1 count of object sexual penetration
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
