Sept. 28 deadline to apply for service academy appointment

Rep. Barbara Comstock (VA-10) has announced that the deadline for students interested in applying for a nomination by the 10th District Service Academy Advisory Board to one of the nation’s military academies for the Class of 2023 is 5 p.m. on Friday, September 28th in her Sterling district office:

“The future leaders of our country are applying today to be a part of our nation’s service academies.  Our region is home to some of the best and brightest students and I am confident that this year’s class of applicants will be exceptionally strong.  The strength and integrity of America’s armed forces depends on students like these who take it upon themselves to serve and to sacrifice for the next generation.

“There is no doubt that the students of the class of 2023 are leaders to those around them.  Courage and honor are the pillars that these students exemplify as they forge their pathway to service.  This year’s 10th District Service Academy Advisory Board will have their work cut out for them as they review this year’s applications.”

Applications can be mailed or hand delivered to Comstock’s Sterling office at 21430 Cedar Drive, Suite 218, Sterling, Virginia 20164.  Applications MUST BE RECEIVED by 5 p.m. on September 28th.  Interested students can request an Academy Nomination Application from Comstock’s Web site at https://comstock.house.gov/services/military-academy-nominations  The .selection process is strictly a competitive one.
