Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at 6:30PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 10100 block of Lake Jackson Dr. in Manassas (20111) to investigate an unknown man in the caller’s yard. Upon arriving at the home, officers made contact with the man, later identified as the accused, who appeared to be suffering a mental health crisis.
MPO Renee Carr, public information officer, said officers transported the accused to a nearby crisis assessment center, and while at the center, the accused struck a sheriff’s deputy before actively attempting to assault the officers and flee from their custody. After a brief struggle, the accused was resecured. No injuries were reported by the officer. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ronald William MCFARLAND, was arrested.

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Nov. 6, 2021 at 7:57PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Briarwood Dr. in Dumfries (22026) for a mental health consumer in crisis. When officers arrived at the residence, a man, later identified as the accused, stood in the doorway, and spoke to the officers.
MPO Renee Carr, public information officer, said that while investigating, officers determined no police action was necessary and were asked to wait while the other occupants of the home prepared to leave. The accused remained in the doorway talking to officers when, without provocation, the accused struck an officer in the head. A struggle ensued and the accused refused to follow officer’s commands by actively resisting. At some point, a family member intervened to assist, and officers were eventually able to secure he accused. During the encounter, the accused shoved an officer to the ground. The officers received treatment at an area hospital for minor injuries.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Rodney Leon WARD, was arrested.

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On Sunday, Nov. 7 at 12:17AM, officers responded to the 14500 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an unconscious man who was laying on the ground. According to MPO Renee Carr, public information officer, upon arriving in the area, officers observed a man, later identified as the accused, who was unresponsive but breathing and without obvious injuries to his body. Rescue personnel arrived and moved the accused inside to an ambulance.
A short time later, the accused regained consciousness and immediately attempted to physically assault rescue personnel, to include attempting to bite them. Officers intervened and, at one point, the accused struck an officer in the chest area before the accused was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation and the accused’s release from the hospital, the accused, identified as Felipe Arturo GAMERO SANDOVAL, was arrested.
