On Thursday, Aug. 27, local residents and dignitaries paid tribute to school’s namesake, Officer Chris Yung during a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new school.
The Prince William County Police Officer and former marine died in an accident while rushing to help others.
Yung’s widow, children, and and other family members were on hand to dedicate the school to the memory of a man whose character and public service will now inspire generations of students.

Time to pay Prince William County property taxes; deadline is Dec. 5
Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes before the Dec. 5 due date. A late payment penalty of 10 percent will apply to any unpaid tax balance after the Dec. 5 deadline. Additionally, interest will accrue monthly on unpaid balances at a rate of 10 percent per annum until they are fully paid.
