Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) has been named a conferee to H.R. 4310, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2013, by Speaker of the House John A. Boehner. Conferees are selected from the House and Senate and will meet to work out the differences between the versions of the legislation passed by each chamber.
H.R. 4310 passed the House of Representatives on May 18, 2012, with Wittman’s support, and passed the Senate on December 4, 2012.
“The NDAA is a critical part of our military budgeting process,” Wittman said, “and its provisions provide direction for all of our men and women in uniform and for the families who support these dedicated service members. I am humbled to be a part of this process, and I look forward to working with my colleagues from the House and Senate to ensure that our committed all-volunteer force is resourced with the highest caliber of training, resources, equipment and support. They are the finest military the world has ever known, and they deserve no less.”
Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
