Registration begins April 12 for Prince William’s virtual high school summer classes

Registration for six-week summer school session of Virtual High School @ WCS, the School Division’s online high school program, will open on April 12. New summer school courses are Latin II and Spanish I.

The popular Economics and Personal Finance course can serve double duty by fulfilling the new virtual course graduation requirement. “Many students seem to be using this option to fulfill both requirements at once,” says Gina Jones, coordinator for the Virtual High School program.

Registration for the summer session will take place online at virtualhigh.schools.pwcs.edu. Registration will close June 24. The tuition is $450 for residents and $595 for out-of-county students. Tuition for HPE II is reduced to $375 and students must also enroll in a driver education class.

Only money orders and cashier’s checks will be accepted for tuition–no cash, personal checks, or credit cards.  Tuiton must be paid in full by June 27.

Students cannot take the online summer courses if they will be without Internet access during the session. They may work at any time during the day and on weekends if they want to get ahead. However, students are not permitted to miss their daily deadlines. Course instructors offer daily office hours and live lessons to support students.
