In Woodbridge Dec. 26, vehicle is burned completely
On Monday, Dec. 26, at noon, fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire located at the 17500 block of Mine Road in Woodbridge. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a burned vehicle that did not belong to the homeowner on private property. No injuries were reported.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the vehicle was burned completely to the frame. The vehicle is a total loss with estimated damages of $10,000.
The fire was incendiary and currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Fire at Wawa storage room on Jefferson Davis Highway on Dec. 20
On Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 3:43 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a commercial fire at the Wawa store located in the 15800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire in the rear storage room and initiated attack and extinguishment of the fire. No injuries were reported.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $10,000. The Building Inspector and Health Department were on scene due to minor smoke and water damage. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Dec. 18 fire on Calexico Lane
On Sunday, Dec. 18 at 4 a.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 15100 block of Calexico Lane in Woodbridge. Firefighters observed fire showing from the front of the home when they arrived, began suppression and extinguished the fire.
Two of four occupants and their pets were home at the time of the fire. The occupants’ pets, three cats, have not been located. Red Cross was on scene to assist four adults displaced by the fire.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $100,000. A Building Official posted the home as unsafe.
The fire originated on the outside of the home from a warming lamp in a pet house and has been determined as accidental. according to a news release from Prince William County Fire & Rescue.
Firefighters put out fire on Duck Lane in Haymarket early Dec. 17
On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 12:46 a.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 17000 block of Duck Lane in Haymarket.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from a first floor window. As they made entry, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $600.
The DFR report said the fire originated from a pellet stove exhaust that ignited combustible material on the home’s exterior causing a brush fire that extended into the home.

Three townhouses involved in Dec. 17 fire on Cosgrove Way
On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 3:53 a.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a three-story townhouse fire located in the 17400 block of Cosgrove Way in Woodbridge.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire on the rear of a mid-row townhome that had extended to two additional townhomes. Fire and rescue units began occupant searches while initiating suppression and extinguishment of the fire. All occupants had safely evacuated due to sounding of the smoke alarms allowing them additional time to escape. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries.
Red Cross provided assistance to 10 adults displaced by the fire. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $400,000; a total loss. A Building Official has posted the homes unsafe.
The fire started on the exterior rear of the townhome; the cause was electrical and has been determined as accidental.

Townhouse deck on fire on Flager Circle on Dec. 17
On Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4:32 a.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a townhouse fire located at 7900 block of Flager Circle in Manassas. Upon arrival firefighters observed a portion of the deck on fire that had extended to the fence below. Fire and rescue units immediately extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $5,000.
The fire originated on the deck due to improper disposal of smoking materials and has been determined as accidental.vPrince William County Fire and Rescue Chief Kevin McGee urges residents to take precautions when using smoking materials. “Smoking materials are the leading cause of fire deaths and although unintentional, the majority of home smoking-material fires are caused by human error,” he was quoted as saying.
Dec. 17 fire at Linton Hall Road home in Bristow
On Saturday, Dec. 17, at 1:51 p.m., fire and rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 9900 block of Linton Hall Road in Bristow.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire showing from an attached garage that had extended into the home. Fire and rescue units began suppression and extinguished the fire.
Two adults and three children, displaced by the fire, were home at the time of the fire. Red Cross was available on scene and assisted the displaced residents.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $150,000. A Building Official posted the home as unsafe.
The fire started on the front of the home near a trash can; the cause is undetermined.
