PWC Police seek clues from public in Woodbridge purse snatchings

POSSIBLY RELATED STRONG ARMED ROBBERIES, WOODBRIDGE

The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing information about two possibly related robberies which were reported to have occurred in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County on Oct. 8.

On October 8th at 8:58AM, police responded to the area of Mt. Pleasant Dr and Cobb Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, a 21 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the area above when she observed a newer model silver sedan park along the sidewalk near her. An unknown man then exited the vehicle and approached the victim, pushed her, and snatched her purse. The suspect then got back in his vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were reported.

While officers were investigating this robbery, a second incident was reported. At around 9:30AM, police responded to the 13100 block of Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim in the incident, a 40 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking to her vehicle in the above area when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man grabbed the victim’s purse and ran to a nearby vehicle, described as a silver sedan, where he then fled the area. No injuries were reported. These incidents are believed to be related and involve the same suspect. No weapon was seen or implied in either incident.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 30 & 35 years of age, with a muscular build, dark complexion, short black hair, and a mustache
Last seen wearing a light colored shirt, possibly brown or gray, and jeans

Vehicle Description:
A silver, newer model, 4-door sedan – possibly a Toyota Corolla
