PWC Police report several calls involving firearms

Prince William County Police Department spokesman Officer Nathan Probus reported Nov. 28, 2016 on the following cases:

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation – On November 28 at 12:34AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting which occurred somewhere in Woodbridge earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile of Alexandria, was walking in a park in Woodbridge when he was struck in the upper body by a bullet. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment by a family member and police were contacted. The victim was not cooperative with investigators. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding | Stabbing Investigation– On November 27 at 8:00PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 16806 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as an 18-year-old man of Dumfries, was involved in a verbal altercation with several unknown men in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven. During the encounter, the victim was stabbed. The suspects fled the area and the police were contacted. The victim was flown to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and is expected to survive. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation – On November 24 at 8:00PM, officers responded to investigate a shooting which occurred somewhere in the area of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 20-year-old man of Woodbridge, was walking in the above area when he was struck in the leg by a bullet. The victim then called a friend who drove him to an area hospital for treatment and police were contacted. The victim was not cooperative with investigators. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On November 26 at 8:51PM, officers responded to the 14600 block of Ashdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area.  Officers checked the area and located several shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On November 25 at 1:09PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9200 block of Chaconas Ct in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a destruction of property call. The homeowner reported to police that on November 23, around 4:30PM, a loud noise was heard coming from outside the residence. The following day, the homeowner located a bullet lodged in an interior wall. No injuries or other property damage were reported.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On November 22 at 8:30PM, officers responded to the area of Kagera Lp in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area. When officers checked the area, additional shots were heard. Further investigation determined that the accused fired multiple rounds into the air in the back yard of his residence. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident. Three firearms were recovered.
