Incidents
• Hit & Run Crash Investigation – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 3:15PM, officers responded to the 8900 block of Academic Lp. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a hit and run crash. The investigation revealed that a group of kids were playing in the above area when a 7-year-old boy ran into the roadway where he was struck by a gold-colored SUV. The driver of the striking vehicle stopped briefly before driving out of the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. The only description of the driver is a black female. The investigation continues.
• Indecent Exposure –On Monday, May 16, 2022 at 4:57PM, officers responded to investigate an indecent exposure that was reported to have occurred in the area of Antietam Rd. and Seminole Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that at approximately 7:00AM, a witness was walking in the above area when they observed an unknown man inside an older model silver van. The man was reportedly nude and making inappropriate gestures. The witness reported the incident to a family member who eventually notified a Prince William County Crossing Guard who they encountered later in the day. Officers checked the area for a vehicle matching the description. The suspect and vehicle were not located.
• Residential Burglary – On May Friday, 13, 2022 at 11:33AM, officers responded to investigate a burglary that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 12500 block of Armada Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) on May 8. The homeowner reported to police that entry was made into the home through the unsecured front door sometime between 11:30AM and 1:30PM. Clothing and shoes were reported missing.

• Abduction | Attempted Armed Robbery – On May 6, 2022 at 9:20PM, officers responded to the Prince William Ice Center located at 5180 Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 13-year-old male juvenile, was inside the center when he was approached by a group of teenagers. After a brief exchange, the victim proceeded to the parking lot to wait for his ride. Once outside the complex, the victim was once again approached by the group. At that point, the victim began walking away when three males from the group followed him. The victim began to run, at which point, the suspects tackled and assaulted him. During the encounter, the assailants forcibly held the victim down while they went through his pockets. One of the suspects displayed a knife while demanding the victim’s property. The victim was eventually able to break free from the suspects and run away. Minor injuries were reported, and no property was taken. Responding officers located a group of juveniles in the area. The group was determined to be the initial juveniles who approached the victim, not the assailants. Officers were able to identify two of the assailants as 14-year-old male juveniles. Following the investigation, officers charged the two identified suspects in connection with the incident. The investigation continues as officers attempt to identify the remaining suspect.

• Malicious Wounding – On Monday, May 16, 2022 at 8:06PM, officers responded to the CubeSmart Self Storage located at 14250 Charis Ave. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 49-year-old man, and an off-duty employee of the business, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. At one point, the altercation became physical, and the accused retrieved a metal bat from his vehicle before striking the victim multiple times. The accused then drove away from the victim and waited for police to arrive at the location. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Joshua Everett COLLINS, was arrested.

• Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:10PM, officers responded to the 15100 block of Potomac Town Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated while in the parking lot of the above area. During the encounter, the accused locked the victim out of the vehicle. When the victim attempted to enter the vehicle using a metal chair, the accused took the chair and struck the victim with it. The victim then got into the driver’s side of the vehicle and attempted to leave. At that point, the accused pulled the victim by the hair. A witness intervened, and the two parties were separated. The accused drove out of the area prior to police arriving at the location. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Tysante Parish COY. Later that evening, members of the Virginia State Police located the accused and took him into custody without incident.
