PWC Police Report for Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022

INCIDENTS
• Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery –
On August 1, 2022 at 8:39PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Potomac Vista Apartments located in the 1200 block of Potomac Vista Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old man, was in the courtyard area of the complex when he was approached by two male acquaintances, possibly juveniles. During the encounter, one of the males was striking a nearby wall with a belt, while the second male attempted to take the victim’s phone. The victim was able to maintain control of the phone and contacted the police. The suspects fled on foot prior to the police arriving at the location. No injuries were reported, and no property was reported missing. The investigation continues.

A black male, approximately 5’9”, skinny, with curly medium-length hair
Last seen wearing a multicolored stripped shirt and long pants
A black male, approximately 5’0”, with short hair
Last seen wearing grey shorts

ARRESTS
• Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related –
On August 2, 2022 at 12:35AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 13800 block of Amy Ln. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times with a blunt object. At one point, the victim retrieved her phone and was attempting to contact the police when the accused took the phone from the victim. The accused then offered to drive the victim to an area hospital and both parties left the residence. The accused did not drive to a hospital and eventually stopped in the area of Mohican Rd. and Harvard St. in Woodbridge where the victim attempted to exit the vehicle. The accused then prevented the victim from exiting the vehicle by beginning to drive away. A witness intervened and the victim was able to get out of the vehicle and contact the police. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Later that morning, officers located the accused in Nokesville where he was taken into custody without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Dennis Vela PENA, was arrested.

Charged with malicious wounding, abduction, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and domestic assault & battery

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 1, 2022 at 11:30AM, the accused was in police custody at UVA Prince William Medical Center, located at 8700 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20110), when she began kicking the bed and attempting to damage items in the room. As officers entered the room, the accused spat on an officer. The officers then attempted to resecure the accused who then spat on an officer a second time. The accused was resecured without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Malkia Dannelle ALEXANDER, was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on LEO
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond
