PWC Police make arrest in abduction / malicious wounding case

Abduction | Malicious Wounding –  Abduction | Malicious Wounding –  On March 23 at 9:05PM, detectives from the Prince William County VA Police Department’s Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 15000 block of Empire St in Woodbridge (22193) on March 22, according to a news release from Officer Nathan Probus, spokesman for the police department.

The victim, a 45 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal alteration which escalated.

During the encounter, the accused attempted to sexually assault the victim.

At one point, the victim attempted to get away from the accused who then stood in front of a doorway preventing her from leaving. When the victim attempted to contact police, the accused grabbed her phone. When the victim attempted to retrieve the phone, the accused twisted her arm causing it to fracture.

The parties eventually separated and the victim responded to Garfield Station on March 23 after receiving medical treatment for her injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Charged with abduction with intent to defile and malicious wounding

**INCIDENTS**
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 23 at 11:43PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the above area. Officers checked the area and located multiple shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported. The investigation continues.
