PWC police looking for suspect in shooting

On Feb. 10, 2012 at 10:44 p.m., police responded to the area of Old Triangle Rd and Sigel Ct in Dumfries (22026) for a shooting in progress.

The investigation revealed that earlier in the night a large fight had broken out at Garfield High School following a basketball game. Police responded to the school and attempted to break up several disorderly crowds. As the groups were dispersing, several juveniles regrouped at Potomac Mills Mall where additional fights broke out. Several officers had to be called in to handle these incidents which were ultimately dispersed without any injuries reported or arrests made.

Around 10:44 p.m. two groups involved in the abovementioned incidents reacquired each other in the area of Old Triangle and Heth Ct where another fight ensured. During the encounter, a member of one group, later identified as the accused, displayed a handgun and fired several shots. Following the shots, both groups dispersed. No one was injured as a result of this exchange.

However, the vehicle with the shooter proceeded to the area of Old Triangle and Sigel Ct where the accused fired several shots again, this time from the vehicle, at two uninvolved individuals walking on the sidewalk. As a result, one of the individuals, an 18-year-old-woman of Triangle, was grazed by a bullet, striking her head. This victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other individual, walking with the victim, was not injured in the encounter. Witnesses and the victim were able to provide police with a vehicle description as it sped away from the area.

Prince William County Police and Dumfries Police saturated the area and were able to identify the shooter as the accused, according to Jonathan Perok, Prince William County police spokesman. Warrants were obtained and are on file. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Wanted: Johnnie Pablito KAMARA, aka “Blaze”, 19, - no fixed address, described as a black male, 5’09” / 160lbs, black hair / brown eyes, wanted for malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting from a vehicle.
