PWC Police investigate domestic assault and battery, burglary, assault on law enforcement officer

Abduction | Brandishing | Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 24th at 7:15AM, officers responded to the 10800 block of Buttercup Pl in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 26 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter the accused brandished a shotgun and assaulted the victim. The victim attempted to leave the home multiple times but was stopped by the accused. At one point the accused tied up the victim’s hands. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Residential Burglary – On December 27th at 2:21AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4400 block of Worchester Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. A resident of the apartment reported to police that he was sleeping in his bedroom when he awoke to noises coming from the living room area. Upon checking the apartment, the resident observed an unknown man hiding behind a table. The resident ordered the man to leave the apartment. Once the man left, the resident immediately called police. Responding officers located a man matching the description in the area of Darbydale Ave and Welsh Ln. The man was identified as the accused and was determined to have been the intruder in the burglary. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. No property was reported missing and the accused appeared to have entered the apartment through a sliding glass door.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Resisting Arrest – On December 25th at 8:21PM, officers responded to the 15200 block of Colony Pl in Woodbridge (22191) for a call of a disorderly person. Officers arrived and located the person, identified as the accused, standing outside of an apartment building. The accused was under the influence of alcohol and became aggressive towards officers as they attempted to arrest him. The accused actively resisted which led to a struggle. At one point, the accused bit one of the officers in the leg. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported.

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On December 26th at 9:28PM, officers responded to the Days Inn located at 16925 Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in one of the rooms. The victim, a 21 year old woman of Colonial Beach VA, reported to police that she met up with an unknown man in one of the rooms at the above motel. During the encounter, the man displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim. At that point, a struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect. Following the altercation, the man fled the room on foot. Minor injuries were reported. This incident does not appear to be random.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 22 & 27 years of age, 6’0”, 200lbs with a heavy build, medium complexion, short black hair, and a beard
Last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and tan shorts

Residential Burglary – On December 25th at 12:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Bombay Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:00AM and 11:00AM. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. Jewelry, electronics, and other miscellaneous property, total value around $300, were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On December 23rd at 10:13AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11200 block of Soldier’s Ridge Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. A resident of the apartment reported to police that between 12:00PM on December 20th and 7:00AM on December 23rd, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the residence through a window which was forced open. No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing.
