PWC police investigate death of Bristow infant

Death Investigation

On March 8, 2012 at 12:42 p.m., police responded to the 13200 block of Sapphire Ridge Pl in Bristow (20136) for a report of an unresponsive child. Caller reported to police that a 3-month-old infant girl was found unconscious. The infant was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation has not revealed any signs of foul play at this point, according to Jonathan Perok, Prince William County Police spokesman.

An unlicensed daycare appeared to have been operating out of the residence. Other children were present at the residence during the incident. No other injuries or incidents were reported. The remaining children are in the process of being released to their parents or guardians. This investigation is continuing and more information will be released tomorrow, Perok said in a press release issued shortly before 7 p.m.
