PWC Police Blotter for Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021

Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – On Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at 10:41PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 8000 block of Clifton St. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted robbery. The victim, a 20-year-old man, reported to police that while outside in the above area, he encountered three unknown men. During the encounter, one of the suspects struck the victim with a rock. The victim then fell to the ground and momentarily lost consciousness.

When the victim regained consciousness, the suspects were attempting to take the victim’s money, however, the victim was able to separate from the suspects before they took his property. The victim eventually contacted the police. Later that evening, the victim went to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. The only suspect description available at this time is three Hispanic males, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer.

• Residential Burglary – On Friday, Dec. 17 at 9:22PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1800 block of Inglebrook Dr. in Wood-bridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing. No suspect description is available at this time.

Residential Burglary – On December 17 at 2:25AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2400 block of Gunwale Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the attached garage through the rear door which was found unsecured and then entry was made into the residence through the garage door. Video surveillance footage revealed that two unknown men were observed outside of the home at approximately 2:30PM carrying property from inside the home. Power tools, a socket set, lawn equipment, exercise equipment and shoes were reported missing.

An unknown race male, approximately 5’11”, 170lbs.
Last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweat pants, and Flint 13 Jordan shoes
A Hispanic male, approximately 5’11”, 170lbs.
Last seen wearing a black sweat shirt and blue jeans

Strangulation | Domestic Related –
On December 18 at 10:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10300 block of Sesame Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim before grabbing her neck. Eventually the parties separated, and the police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Erick Salvador CANDELARIO PINEDA, was arrested.

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On December 18 at 11:41PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1600 block of Woodside Dr. Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 33-year-old woman, reported to police that a verbal altercation with an acquaintance, identified as the accused, escalated when he grabbed her by the hair and threw her against a wall. The accused then pushed the victim onto the bed and grabbed her neck. At one point, a family member intervened, and the parties separated. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Marlon Eugenio MURILLO MAIRENA, who was taken into custody the following day without incident.

Malicious Wounding – On Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at 9:30AM, officers responded to US Foods located at 11994 Livingston Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, reported to police that while working at the above location, a verbal altercation with a co-worker, identified as the accused, escalated. During the altercation, the accused cut the victim with a box cutter before both parties separated and the accused fled the business. Rescue personnel responded and the victim eventually went to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Edgar Lionel CALLWOOD, who turned himself in to police later that evening.

Charged with malicious wounding

Sexual Assault Investigation – On December 20, detectives with the Special Victims Unit assumed an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Manassas (20109) area of Prince William County earlier that evening. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 12-year-old girl, and a family member, identified as the accused, were in a room together when the accused inappropriately touched the victim. When the parties separated, the victim immediately reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. No injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Juan Enrique AVILA, was arrested.

Charged with aggravated sexual battery
