ARRESTS
Sexual Battery – On August 31st at 5:20 p.m., police responded to the Braids, Weaves and Gifts located at 1455 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a sexual assault. The victim, a 17-year-old female of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was in the business attempting to apply for a job. Once inside, the accused, the owner of the business, guided her to a back room where he inappropriately touched the victim. The victim was able to leave the business and contact police. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested. Arrested: Steven Theodorre GAREY, 51, of 2910 Alliance Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with sexual battery. Court date unavailable, held on a $1,000 secured bond.
Indecent Liberties – On September 5th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a report of indecent liberties which was reported to have occurred in the 3400 block of Castle Hill Dr in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the accused exposed himself to the victim, a 17-year- old female of Woodbridge, on multiple occasions. The victim and the accused are known to one another. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested. Arrested: Gerson Wilfredo PAZ, 33, of the 3400 block of Castle Hill Dr in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond.
Narcotics Investigation – On September 5th, detectives from the Street Crimes Unit assisted patrol officers with an investigation into a possible forgery of prescription medications. The investigation revealed that the two accused individuals drove from Baltimore County in Maryland on September 5th in an attempt to pass fraudulent prescriptions at the Walgreens located at 6400 Hoadly Rd in Manassas (20112). As a result of the investigation, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was seized. The following arrests were also made without incident. Arrested: Tanika Monique WASHINGTON, 21, of 552 Orchard St in Baltimore, MD. Charged with obtaining drugs by fraud and attempted possession of a schedule I or II narcotic [oxycodone]. Court date set for October 12, 2012, held on a $1,500 secured bond. Leon Jordan CAUGHMAN, 44, of 104 Stone Gate Blvd in Elkton, MD. Charged with obtaining drugs by fraud and distribution of a schedule I or II narcotic [oxycodone]. Court date set for October 12, 2012, held WITHOUT bond.
INCIDENTS
Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On September 6th at 12:00AM, police responded to the 7300 block of Old Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) for a robbery. Witnesses reported to police that the victim, a 35 year old man of no fixed address, was in the area above when he was approached by two unknown men armed with wooden hand rails. The men assaulted the victim causing severe injuries before both men fled on foot with the victim’s phone and undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. Witnesses of the incident were able to identify one of the assailants as a male juvenile. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Charges are pending. The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening. No description could be provided for the second suspect. Investigation continues.
Residential Burglary – On September 5th at 5:30PM, police responded to the 11000 block of Hiram Ct in Manassas (20109) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:15AM and 4:00PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear sliding glass door which had been pried open. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.
