PWC Police Beat 9/27/11

INCIDENT REPORTS
Armed Robbery

On Sept. 26 at 10:20 p.m., police responded to the area of Walnut and Balsam streets in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 18 of Woodbridge, reported to police he was in the area above getting items out of his vehicle, when he was approached by two unknown men. One of the men displayed a handgun and ordered the victim to the ground then assaulted him. The men took two cell phones and a wallet containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Police canvassed the surrounding neighborhoods but did not locate the suspected assailants. Lookout: Two black males, both between 20 and 30. First male was around 5’07” 150 lbs., thin build. Last seen wearing a black-collared shirt, dark blue jeans and a mask. Second male was around 5’07” 200 lbs., muscular build. Last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a mask.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On Sept. 27 at 3:54 a.m., police responded to the 13100 block of Kendale Ct in Woodbridge for a burglary. A neighbor reported to police he saw, what was believed to be flashlights, inside of a nearby residence and an unknown man leave in a blue, older model, four-door sedan. Police arrived and discovered the front door that had been kicked in. The homeowner was not at the residence at the time of the burglary. A TV valued around $200 was reported missing. 

Burglary
On Sept. 26 at 8:34 p.m., police responded to the 4500 block of Evansdale Road in Woodbridge for a burglary to a residence. Property owner reported to police the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Sept. 25 and 1 p.m. Sept. 26. Entry appeared to have been gained through a rear bathroom window which had been broken out. Copper piping, of unknown value, was reported missing from the water heater, washer, sink, waterline and gas furnace. 

Burglary
On Sept. 26 at 7:11 p.m., police responded to the 2800 block of Noble Fir Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that at around 5:40 a.m., she had placed her purse containing miscellaneous items, including a cell phone valued around $50 and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, in her vehicle, which was parked in an attached garage after opening the garage overhead door. The homeowner re-entered the main residence for about 15 minutes before returning to her vehicle and discovering the purse outside of the vehicle and contains scattered around the garage. The items listed above were not located.

Burglary to Business
On Sept. 26 at 2:45 p.m., police responded to the construction site of the King of Pita restaurant at 7945 Wellingford Dr. in Manassas for a burglary. Owner reported to police the burglary occurred between 2 and 9:30 a.m. Entry appeared to have been made through an unlocked construction door. Eight spools of copper wire valued over $1,000 were reported missing. 

Burglary to Business
On Sept. 26 at 6:42 a.m., police responded to Word Landscaping at 16800 Beverley Mill Road in Broad Run for a burglary. Employee reported to police the burglary occurred between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and 4:30 a.m. Sept. 26. Entry appeared to have been made through a wooden wall of a barn office that had been manipulated to allow someone to enter. A tool chest valued around $6,000 was reported missing.

Burglary
On Sept. 23 at 2:27 p.m., police responded to the 6000 block of Abernethy Lane in Gainesville for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between midnight Sept. 22 and 7 a.m. Sept. 23. Entry appeared to have been made into an unlocked vehicle parked in an unsecured attached garage. There were no signs of forced entry. A wallet containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing. 

Burglary
On Sept. 22 at 1:35 p.m., police responded to the 8100 block of Maplewood Dr. in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 7 p.m. Sept. 21 and 10 a.m. Sept. 22. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured basement door. A TV and jewelry valued around $2,500, in addition to, an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency were reported missing.
