ARRESTS

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – On August 7, 2012 at 10 p.m., police responded to check on a suspicious vehicle which was parked at the Lake Ridge Marina located at 12350 Cotton Mill Dr in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 15-year-old female of Woodbridge, met the accused through a social phone app, and the two were involved in an ongoing relationship with one another. During the course of the investigation, detectives from the Special Victim’s Bureau discovered that the accused was in possession of nude photos of the victim. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested. Arrested: Michael Lee TALSMA, 29, of 9441 Silver Meteor Ct in Manassas Park Charged with 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, 4 counts of possession of child pornography and 1 count of using a communications system to facilitate certain offenses with a minor. Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond

INCIDENTS

Armed Robbery – On August 7, 2012 at 3:35 a.m., police responded to the Best Western located at 14619 Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) for a robbery. An employee of the hotel reported to police that an unknown man entered the hotel, displayed a handgun and relieved him of an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. Lookout: Black male, age 20-22, 5’10” / 180 lbs, medium build with short black hair. Last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with silver writing, black pants and black shoes.

Residential Burglary – On August 6, 2012 at 4:44 a.m., police responded to the 6000 block of Omega Ln in Manassas (20112) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that she was in her living room when she heard a noise coming from the kitchen. Upon checking the noise, the homeowner found an unknown man in the residence. Once discovered by the homeowner, the man fled the residence. Officers discovered entry had been made through an unsecured garage door. No items were reported missing. Lookout: Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5’4” / 160ls, medium build with short hair. Last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, dark shoes and a backpack.
